Private channels feared to compete with the prices of Claro

The Uruguayan government withdrew Claro, a subsidiary of America Movil, permission to market the pay TV service by illegitimacy. The Executive Order was signed by President José Mujica and the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Roberto Kreimerman.

The company of the business tycoon Carlos Slim, analyzes several judicial avenues to sue the State, arguing that it breaches a Court of Administrative Litigation, as this had legitimized the authority granted by the Regulatory Unit of Communications Services in Uruguay (Unidad Reguladora de los Servicios en Comunicaciones de Uruguay - URSEC) in October 2008, which granted a Class D license to Flimay communications S.A. (Claro) to provide TV service tosubscribers, says the resolution dated May 10 and broadcasted Sunday in Montevideo.
